I am now a senior graduating this semester. I am from Brooklyn, New York and I love baseball. My favorite team is the New York Yankees. When I graduate I aspire to be a New York City firefighter.

Hello, my name is Laurel Velasquez. I am a freshman going for business marketing. I live in Lake View, New York but I am from Houston, Texas. I love to go skiing and yes, I love snow.   Anytime I am not at school I am watching brothers wrestling, football, baseball, or basketball games. Hello, my name is Victoria Pucci-Schaefer. I am currently a senior at Fredonia High School and am part of the 3-1-3 Program here at SUNY Fredonia. I enjoy traveling, singing and dancing. Hi everyone!
My name is Marleah, and I'm a senior math major with a physics minor. I'm from a little town outside Syracuse called Canastota, and I transferred to Fredonia from Suffolk University in Boston my sophomore year. I'm the president of Chi Tau Omega, our math club on campus, and am an active member of the Sci-Fi and Fantasy Enthusiasts and the Physics and Engineering Society. Next year, I'm going to start my PhD in math with a concentration in Number Theory at a university to be determined. I enjoy metal and punk music, and basically everything nerdy, from tv shows to video games.

Hello all, my name (obviously) is Tyler Roesler. I grew up local to Fredonia- Sinclairville, NY to be exact. I am a Senior Computer Science major, graduating December 2017. I hope to move to a city and work for a software solutions company of some sort, and possibly do some freelance  web design as well. I have two dogs at home and I also have a Fiance at home named Rebecca Masiker whom I have been with for over 8 years now (and you might deduce which really hold my heart by the order).

Hey, I am a sophomore criminal justice major. I am from Buffalo. I am in the Army National Guard as an 11B, infantry. Currently in a Calvary headquarters unit hoping to go to a line unit soon. I used to play hockey as a defenseman up until the end of my freshman year of college. I also played baseball up until 9th grade. I like country music and shooting guns. If I have free time, which I usually do, I just watch Netflix or go to the gym.

Hi guys!! My name is Unique Johnson, and I'm currently majoring in Earth Science and I'll be graduating real soon. I'm from the Bronx, and I just transferred from a school in Long Island. I love love love astronomy and photography. Astronomy is the reason for my major and photography comes from always wanting to capture each moment... so I'm always taking pictures. This campus is soooo much bigger than my old school's, so you'll probably see me around the campus at all times of the night just roaming and looking at the stars (when it's not snowing or raining that is). In my free time, I'm usually sleeping, I'm a very tired person (lol) but when I'm not I'm watching netflix.. Once Upon A Time, The 100, and Prison Break are currently my favorite shows, so write me if we watch the same thing!! :)

My name is John Marciniak, I'm a freshman, and I double-major in Audio/Radio production and Music Industry with a minor in theatre. I'm from Buffalo, and when I'm not in class I'm usually at the radio station, my home away from home. I'm also in my first play here on campus, PAC's production of Twelfth Night by Shakespeare, and I was just accepted into Random Acts Improv. I come from a very Irish family in St. Louis, Missouri; I now live in a very small town called Pulaski, located in upstate New York. Hi, my name is Dave and I am a freshman at Fredonia. I'm form Medina NY, which is 50 minutes from Buffalo and an hour and a half from here. My major is Sports Management, so I'm obviously in love with any kind of sport. I enjoy being active in terms of constantly doing something. That includes sport activities, working out, and just hanging out and having fun with friends throughout the week and on the weekend. Hello everyone, My name is Dayshawn Archible and I am from The Bronx, NY. I am a junior majoring in biology and aspiring to become an Oncologist. Apart from my fascination and love for science I also have a passion for music, poetry, art, and sports; which happen to be the areas in which I posses some talents. Welcome to your blog site for Introduction to American Studies. We will use this blog as a virtual extension of our class space. You will all be added as authors to the site so you will have full access to post on the blog. Although I may occasionally chime in, this blog is primarily a space for collaboration with your peers.

This site has been created in order to

• ·         Extend learning opportunities beyond the confines of the scheduled class time and space, blurring rigid barriers between academic, campus, and community discourses

• ·         Provide a space for those less easy with speaking in class to have the time to process ideas and contribute to the ongoing discussions of the course

• ·         Encourage a habit of writing as a collaborative act of communication and dialogue in which students may discuss writing notes,  brainstorm papers, plan projects, ask questions, get feedback on rough drafts etc…

• ·         Provide a place where visual mediums such as photos, videos, diagrams may be easily shared as well as hyper-text and web links

• ·         Expose students to alternative viewpoints and experience among peers as well as the opportunity to see how other students are working with and making connections with the course materials
